Our last day and you’d think it was just travel. But nope, the vast majority of people hadn’t shopped at all and hadn’t had a day in the wee town to see anything. So they asked for a break on the last lecture planned and took the hour – and it was just an hour – to shop. And there was one store that was wonderful.
Many things were bought. Lindsay and Rick didn’t want to be in the midst and stayed outside with a gentleman with an outside personality “Call me Uncle!!” And they did. Enjoyed the interaction very much, nice ending to the personalities in Bhutan.
Then – amazing – a clear day with a view of Mt Everest out my side of the plan.
As a last push, the group argued to see Paro Dzong, the beautiful building above Paro. We explored it, so worth exploring.
Then people sprinted to try to shop again in the town of Paro. This makes us (I took advantage of others’ advocating) sound like crazy shoppers, but it actually wasn’t the case. I think they gave us 25 minutes in Paro and they meant it as we were going for the plane back to Bangkok.
The team saying goodbye.
