Today, Nalandabodhi things started to happen with helping to set up the shrine room and registering. I got in an early morning and shot a few short videos. It’s so hard to capture how wonderful it all is.

This is something else you see, sometimes big tables worth of 100’s of tea candles. I’m not sure what the purpose is, though I assume there’s some blessing component. Usually, there’s an old woman who sits here in the morning, but grabbed the photo while she was away. It’s 6am, started over a little before, and it’s already pretty light.
As per previous days, I was still going around with different groups of people. We went to lunch at yet another place with a view of the stupa – this one I don’t think I could find again. It was mostly Nepalese food that didn’t really call, so just had a banana lassi which is my new favorite along with hot lemon/ginger/honey tea. Invariably when I order that, so do several others. I’m definitely making it when I get home.
It was a fun lunch, Italians, French, Dutch, Mexican, me. Such a cool mix of people drawn to Rinpoche. And bless the commonality of English!

Graffiti – cool, and the street market, hard life, but beautiful products. These little red round things are not cherry tomatoes, but perfect little peppers.
Had 11 for dinner at the hotel. It does seem to be the best food in the evening which is very convenient for those who are staying here – like me 🙂 I was so hungry, I’d already sat by myself and a book, so when everyone came, I moved over, joined along enough to have my food – a corn dish names tuka taka corn. Gotta love the name, and really simple corn with fresh bit of veggies, roasted? I don’t know, but everyone loves it.
Then I just slipped out of my end and went up to my bed, leaving some money with one of the guys. Later Maurice texted me that the food had come. So nice – I told him my back was cranky and I just needed to get flat so had already had left. It’s nice because there is a bit of a sense that you can do your own thing, but people will keep an eye out if you need it.
